Classification of special-shaped springs

Special-shaped springsThere are many types of special-shaped springs, as described below: Variable diameter helical springs: used in some special occasions. The material of variable diameter springs is generally round cross-section material, mostly bearing compressive loads. Leaf springs: the material of this spring is spring steel (or plate), processed with corresponding molds on specialized equipment or general pressure processing machine tools. Leaf springs, wave springs, and light springs have relatively thin material thickness, while medium or large disc springs are often thicker, and these springs are also widely used.

Disc springs in special-shaped springs are small in size and light in weight, widely used in cushioning, shock absorption, etc., and are commonly used in stamping molds, valve clutch fasteners, petroleum and geological engineering machinery, etc. Convex helical compression springs can achieve a larger amount of deformation because the smaller coils at both ends can be embedded into the middle coil. For example, some convex automotive brake springs are always in a tense state; when the car valve is opened, the spring restores its deformation, driving the brake to stop the car. Hair clippers also utilize the characteristics of convex helical springs to achieve greater deformation and stress within effective space. Helical springs have similar functions to conical helical springs.

Leaf springs in special-shaped springs can be made from single-piece steel plate spring steel or multiple pieces stacked together, providing good cushioning and damping performance, especially the damping performance of multi-piece springs, mainly used in the suspension systems of cars, tractors, and railway vehicles. Unequal pitch helical springs are mainly used in the suspension springs of motorcycles and small passenger cars as well as valve springs for high-speed engines. On the same spring, it can meet the requirements of low stiffness when deformation is small and high stiffness when deformation is large. Unequal pitch springs just meet these special requirements.
